Cool Stuff

The basins and The Balustrate are probably the most noticable installations you can see in Muséhagen. The basins were built in 1930 by two men named Rolf Nordhagen and Rosenkilde. If you are lucky, you might see a fish down in those basins! But you have to keep very still, because they are terribly shy!

The Basins

Wow, these basins are almost 100 years old! They all contain various fishes. Can you spot one? Be careful not to go to close to the basin, the fishes scare easily!

The Balustrade

The Balustrade contains 12 balusters, each displaying its own individual climbing plant. In this area are multiple benches for resting tired feet and enjoying the view of the basins.

Armeuer Hansen

Let me tell you about this man. In 1873 he discovered the lepra bacteria! Because of that he helped many many people who were sick from leprosy, which is a terrible, terrible disease. If you want to learn more about the disease there is a museum with lots of information about it and images. It's very interesting, but perhaps also a little scary for the youngest of children.

The Bird Bath

I like birds, I oddly feel related to them in way. Anyways, here the birds go bathing. Surrounding the bird bath are 4 trees called Redvein Enkianthus. In the nearby corner you can see one of Bergens OLDEST rhododendrons! It is called catawbiense! They say it is about 150 years old!
